Here are the Highlights from the Weekly School Messenger Call for the Week of October 31st!

Happy Halloween! We hope that you stay safe tonight and have a spooky good time!

We are now in the second half of first semester and students needs to make sure that they are continuing to work hard. For GPA purposes, the grade posted on the transcript is a combination of Quarter 1 and Quarter 2 grades. There is still time to improve your semester grade that will be on your transcript!

We are starting our Thanksgiving Canned Food Drive tomorrow! Each RANCH will have a box where students can bring in items that we will donate to different families in the community. Please bring in non-perishable items. Please donate if you can!

In December, we will do our traditional “Baby It’s Cold Outside” baby clothes and baby items drive. We will start this after the Thanksgiving Holidays!

Congratulations to Boys Swimming and Diving who won the District Championship and the Girls who came in 3rd. Congratulations to Mia Dempsey and Evan Lewis, Diving District Champions! And congratulations to Alex Winston who came in second and qualified for Regionals as well! Best wishes at Swimming and Diving Regionals to those who qualified!

Congratulations to Boys and Girls Mustang Cross Country and Girls and Boys Mustang Golf who will be going to Regionals as well! Congratulations to Mustang Volleyball who remains undefeated this season and has will be hosting the Regional Semi-Final this Wednesday at 7PM against LOLHS. Let’s pack the gym!

We also want to congratulate the Marching Mustangs who were Grand Champions at the Newsome HS Music Festival improving their overall score by more than 9 points! Good luck this week at your Marching Band Performance Assessment this weekend!

Best wishes to our NJROTC Orienteering Team this week at their competition!

Seniors! Please make sure that you go on our website and complete the form to order your cap and gown and diploma! (https://jwmhs.pasco.k12.fl.us/mform/view.php?id=75615.)

On Thursday, November 4th at 830AM we will have our Senior Panoramic for the Class of 2022. All seniors should report to their 1st period classes and we will then release to the gymnasium. If you have an off campus class during this time, please come to campus for the picture and then you can either leave until your report time or stay in the Media Center. This is a one time group picture of the senior class. Don’t miss out!

All paperwork for Winter and Spring Sports will now be completed online at Athletic Clearance (https://athleticclearance.fhsaahome.org/). This can also be found on our website. If you played a fall sport, see Mrs. Dixon for a copy of your paperwork so that you can upload it.

As a reminder, all tickets for sporting events must be purchased via GoFan (https://gofan.co/search) and we will not accept paper tickets or screenshots. The ticket must be on your mobile device.

If you have an eSchool placeholder, on campus or off campus, please continue to work on your classes as they need to be completed by the end of the first semester.

Parking on campus is a privilege and you must have a hangtag and spot to park on campus. Applying for a spot does not guarantee parking. In fact, there is a currently a waiting list for those who want to park. If you have not applied, you will not be on the waiting list if a spot opens. Please follow our rules.

Please make sure that you can pass the Covid-19 screener (Student Covid-19 Screener) each morning that is found on our website. If you cannot, please stay home. If you are positive for Covid-19 or have been exposed to someone who is positive for Covid-19, please stay home and contact your administrator so that we can help you with your school work.

The best way to be successful at JWMHS is to listen to the things we say and read the information that we put out. We communicate in a variety of ways and ask that you make sure that you are paying attention and following us on social media.

Please read our JWMHS Electronic Newsletter, Around the RANCH. You can find it here:  https://www.smore.com/yvtj8 and we will be putting a lot of information in this newsletter that can assist you throughout the year.

We want to remind you that you need to respect each other and just be nice. Calling each other names, posting negative things online, and acting inappropriately towards each other is uncalled for and unnecessary. Again, just be nice. And if you can’t find something nice to say, then don’t say anything at all.

I am very proud of the things going on in Mustang Nation and I hope they continue through this week!

We hope you have a great evening! Thank you for reading!

Go Mustangs!
