Here are the highlights from the JWMHS Call for the Week of September 13th! #ExcellenceTakesEverything and we are looking forward to each of you giving your all each and every day!

Important Information – Please Pay Close Attention!

As we continue through the year, we kindly ask for your continued attention to a few important reminders:

  • Check Your MyPasco Connect Email:  We cannot stress enough that students need to frequently check their myPasco Connect email. We send very important information to students weekly and we want to make sure that students are receiving it. Check your portal email, please!
  • Attendance Matters: Please make sure that you read the attachments to the weekly email. If a student is going to be absent, upon return, families have 72 hours to report the absence in the myPascoConnect Portal for it to be excused.
  • Punctuality Matters: Encourage your child to arrive on time to class each day.
  • Student Drop-Off and Pick-Up: Please use the designated areas for drop-off and pick-up. For safety reasons, please follow directions from staff members to help keep traffic flowing smoothly.
  • Parking on Campus: You can only park on campus if you have a spot assigned to you. DO NOT park in any spot on campus if you have not been assigned a spot.
  • Underclassmen Picture Day on 9/9: Underclassmen Picture Day is Wednesday, September 9th. Dress your best!
  • Dress Code & Wireless Devices: Students should wear school-appropriate clothing and stow their headphones, earbuds, smartwatches and phones when they enter the building.
  • Student Fees: Please take a moment to pay student fees in Rycor.  This will allow us to place orders for classroom supplies and plan for special events on campus.
  • Attachments to Emails: We have added many attachments to this email with information on Yearbook and Picture Dates and Deadlines, the Bell Schedules for the school year, and many other important items. Please review all of them.

Meeting With School Counselors

For those who have requested to see their school counselors, for the first two weeks of school we ask that you are patient as we register new students and systematically review schedule issues and change requests. We anticipate that we will be able to serve everyone faster this way. We thank you for your patience.

Pasco eSchool Placeholders

Of note, if you have an eSchool placeholder, on campus or off campus, please sign up for your classes as soon as possible. Directions can be found on our website.

Dual Enrollment

DE students taking classes online or off campus need to check the Pasco County District DE website (https://www.pasco.k12.fl.us/oll/page/dual-enrollment) for directions on obtaining DE books and resources needed. Don’t delay in doing this!

Required Paperwork to Complete

Please complete online emergency card and parent consent on the parent portal. This is a vital piece of information for us to have in case of emergency.

Free & Reduced Lunch Applications & Breakfast Serving Times!
All students will NOT receive free breakfast and lunch this year! If you need to apply for free and reduced lunch, please make sure that you visit our website to do so: https://connectplus.pasco.k12.fl.us/do/fns/freereduced/. Breakfast will be served each morning until 8:20AM when the warning bell will sound. If you need to put money on your lunch account, we are no longer using My School Bucks for lunch payments. We are now using One Wallet at https://connectplus.pasco.k12.fl.us/do/fns/pay-for-meals-online/ . Parents can add money to an account, ask for refunds, and even transfer money between siblings.

Arriving to Campus & Class on Time

We ask that you are patient this year as we begin the school year with safety protocols and driving to campus.

Our campus will open at 7:50AM each day. Only specific gates will be unlocked. Please watch our video addressing this here: (https://tinyurl.com/JWMHSCarLoop).

Bus Riders

Bus riders will need to enter their lunch number or scan their digital transportation badge to enter and exit the buses. When they arrive to campus, bus riders will need to safely walk on campus sidewalks when walk to and from the bus loop. Do not cut through the parking lots, this is unsafe.

Bike Riders

Bike riders will need to walk their bikes while on campus or crowded areas. Bikes will be stored at the bike racks near the Red Building or near Portable 26. PLEASE USE A LOCK. We cannot say this enough as we have had many issues over the last week of scooters and bikes going missing that were not properly locked.

Please also know that if your E-Bike does not have pedals it is considered a motorcycle and must follow the expectation of Florida Statute. Please review the attached flyer to the email and the flyer posted on our website for more information.

Driving to School – Please Follow the Rules and Be Patient!

As you come to school, please follow the speed limit and the signs in the parking lot as to the direction of the traffic flow and where to drop off and pick up students. Again, please watch our video highlighting the traffic flow that you should follow. (https://tinyurl.com/JWMHSCarLoop)

Parking on Campus

All parking spots are assigned to staff or students. Please park in your assigned parking spot only. You can apply to park by following the parking procedures listed on our website. Only juniors and seniors are allowed to park on campus. Students that have been approved to park on campus can view their parking spot numbers in My Student. Student Parking passes will be passed out during all lunch periods during the first week of school. All student drivers must pick up their parking pass and display the pass in their vehicle.

Parents, if you come to campus, please park in a marked VISITOR spot or along a curb as all spots are assigned and reserved.

Drop Off and Pick Up

Let’s work together in the mornings and afternoons to keep car line safe and moving.

  1. Pull all the way up to the car in front of you.
  2. Only drop off behind the white line and against the curb.
  3. Don’t allow students to enter/exit vehicles in the parking rows or cross through traffic lanes.

Arrival to Campus

Please arrive in your classes on time each day, as being on time is important now and in the future. If a student arrives after 8:30AM, he or she must go to Student Services and check in there as the gates will close and should remain closed for security. Do not prop open gates or put items in gates so that the gates remain open. If you arrive to campus on time, you should not need to worry about having to use these gates. If you arrive late to campus, please do not ask someone to come and open the gate. Please follow our expectations and report to Student Services. Violations of these expectations will result in disciplinary action.
