Here are the highlights from the Weekly School Messenger Call for the Week of September 19th!

We hope that you have great upcoming week.

Keep working hard, Mustangs! If you are not satisfied with your grades, now is the time to speak with your teachers, turn in work, be in all of your classes, and finish the quarter #MustangSTRONG. You still have time to improve your grades before the end of the quarter.

We would like to welcome to the RANCH, Mrs. Carly Baldwin as our new assistant principal. Mrs. Baldwin will be the assistant principal for our MustangU 9th Grade.

Congratulations to Jacob Bolton and Leonid Alexeyev who have been named National Merit Semifinalists! This is wonderful honor and we are so proud of you both! Best wishes as you continue to the next round.

Congratulations to Mustang Girls Cross Country who placed 3rd and Mustang Boys Cross Country placed 7th. Many runners ran season best times and are showing improvement. The girls were lead by Kayla Groppe with a 9th place finish and boys were lead by Joshua Hindman with a 10th place finish. Big win for Girls and Boys Mustang Swimming and Diving over RRHS!

Due to overwhelming demand Mrs. Chamberlin will be hosting 2 more College Application Help sessions for seniors! Save the dates for Monday, September 20th and Monday September 27th. 3:05 PM to 5:00 PM in the Media Center! Please register for the event by visiting our website so Mrs. Chamberlin knows how many will be in attendance! She will also cover essays, the SSAR and how to submit your applications!! Remember the CRC is open during lunches as well for questions and support!!

I am excited to announce that we will have a traditional Homecoming! We will be posting information throughout the week. Our game will be held on Friday, October 8th and our dance will be held on Saturday, October 9th from 6PM to 10PM.

We will have JWMHS student permission slips available this week, as well as guest request forms. Ticket sales will begin soon.

Parents/Guardian will need to make sure that they have completed the Dance Expectations Meeting for Parents/Guardians.If you need to do so, please email me (jschultz@pasco.k12.fl.us) with your child’s name and student number so that I can assign the course to you. Those who have done so already will receive their unique dance number this week in RANCH.

We want to remind you that you need to respect each other and just be nice. Calling each other names, posting negative things online, and acting inappropriately towards each other is uncalled for and unnecessary. Again, just be nice. And if you can’t find something nice to say, then don’t say anything at all.

Parents, I am asking that you continue to have a conversation with your child about vandalizing and stealing Pasco School Board Property. Doing this is a crime and those who are found committing such acts will be disciplined and arrested. If you have information that leads to the remainder of the students who have committed these acts, please email me or fill out our See Something, Say Something link on our website with details, pictures, and video if you have it (https://jwmhs.pasco.k12.fl.us/mform/embed.php?id=17056)

All students who are taking an AP course online, either through FLVS or Pasco eSschool need to request an AP exam. In order to receive the AP Exam only join code they must complete the following form by November 1st. Here is the link for the form: https://forms.office.com/r/ZENH1bSkRU. If students have any questions, please encourage them to come talk to Mrs. Chamberlin ASAP!

Please make sure that you can pass the Covid-19 screener (Student Covid-19 Screener) each morning that is found on our website. If you cannot, please stay home. If you are positive for Covid-19 or have been exposed to someone who is positive for Covid-19, please stay home and contact your administrator so that we can help you with your school work.

Please follow the speed limit and the signs in the parking lot as to the direction of the traffic flow. Please drop off students in our Red Car Loop and not in front of the school or in the Green/Purple Parking Lots. Students, please stay on the sidewalk and do not cut through the parking lot. It delays the car loop and is not safe.

Please read our JWMHS Electronic Newsletter, Around the RANCH. You can find it here: https://www.smore.com/hxz1v and we will be putting a lot of information in this newsletter that can assist you throughout the year.

The best way to be successful at JWMHS is to listen to the things we say and read the information that we put out. We communicate in a variety of ways and ask that you make sure that you are paying attention and following us on social media.

As a reminder, masks are optional. Whether you wear a mask or you do not, please remember to be nice to each other and respectful of each other’s choices. Just be nice.

We hope you have a great evening! Thank you for reading!

Go Mustangs!
