Here are the highlights from the School Messenger call regarding MustangU that went to all 9th graders!
This is Ms. Schultz, your principal, and I would like to welcome our new Mustangs to the RANCH! This is your first Sunday evening call and you can expect to receive one each and every Sunday while we are in school to get you ready for each week and remind you of all of the great things going on at JWMHS. We are so proud to be Mustangs and be part of the best school in Pasco County. We are also so excited to meet each of you on Thursday, August 1st at MustangU beginning at 8AM. We ask that our new Mustangs join us in the cafeteria for check-in. Then, students will be in different activities from 8AM until 1PM. Breakfast and lunch will be provided.
Hopefully, you received our mailout reminding you about MustangU. If you did, you have all of the links and QR codes so that you can pay fees, see your schedule, and purchase Mustang gear from our online store in advance. If you did not, please visit our website to access all of this information: (https://tinyurl.com/MustangUOrientation) and you can still complete these tasks in advance. Parents and guardians, as a reminder, when you login to your Parent Portal for myStudent, please make sure that you complete all of the required forms and documents. We believe that all of this will be available beginning on July 31st, so login then.
After students eat lunch at Mustang U, we ask that parents/guardians join their students at 1PM to take a self-guided tour of campus, as well as find out about what more JWMHS has to offer! Assistance will be available if you need help paying fees, buying a yearbook, or renting a locker. NJRTOC cadets will be around campus to direct students to rooms as well.
We will have Mustang Gear available for sale during this time as well, including Beat the Knights Shirts, Stang Gang Shirts, and our annual Stampede Spirit Shirt! You can purchase each of these for cash only for $15 each in the gymnasium! Various sports and club offerings will have tables set up in the gym for you as well.
Parents and guardians, we will hold a brief parent meeting in the gymnasium beginning at 8:15AM. This meeting will be a brief introduction to JW Mitchell High School.
As a reminder, all parents and guardians must participate in the Parent/Guardian Dance Meeting for a student to attend any dances on campus. If you have not previously attended or participated in the meeting for a current/former student,the course will be available in your child’s myLearning account after August 15th. If you have already participated in the Parent/Guardian Dance Meeting for another/former student, please fill out the form (https://tinyurl.com/JWMHSDanceMtg) so that we can assign your child a unique dance number.
