2024-2025 JWMHS Arrival and Dismissal Procedures

Due to the new State of Florida law regarding school security, we are implementing a change to our arrival and dismissal traffic pattern. This change will affect parent access for JWMHS and SSMS.  We have included a map that outlines the new traffic pattern for dropping off and picking up students for both JWMHS and SSMS. We believe these changes will allow us to move families in and out of campus in a safe, quick and efficient manner.

In order to avoid the traffic backups and delays that have occurred, we are asking that parents and guardians follow the outlined procedures moving forward:

– When entering campus (Jaguar Trail), please enter campus via the second lane from the right.

– No one will be able to go behind SSMS to drop off or pick up.

– Please only stop to drop off or pick up a student.

-Do not park or stop for an extended period to wait for a student while in the Car Loop.

– Keep the Car Loop moving so that traffic can keep flowing to avoid backup.

– Thank you for your patience and cooperation as we move forward.

This will begin on Monday, August 22nd. Again, we appreciate your patience and cooperation as we implement this new procedure.

Hey Mustang families, this video is to help make sure that you understand everything that will be happening for arrival and dismissal this year.

0:09
There are some changes, so please check out the following information carefully.

0:16
A new state law went into effect on August 1st that will significantly change our arrival and dismissal procedures.

0:23
This law requires that open entries and exits are actively staffed during arrival and dismissal and any time there is a student on campus.

0:30
As a result, our entrances at the beginning of the school day will be opening at 7:50 AM.

0:36
Keep in mind that school does not start until 8:25, so this is plenty of time even if you’re an early arriver.

0:45
There will be 4 main places that you can enter campus in the morning that are marked by yellow stars.

0:50
The one in the top left corner of the map would be for people who arrive by car through the car loop or anyone who comes over from the bus loop.

0:59
In the top right hand corner would be the entrance for anyone who rides an ESC bus or a student that’s assigned parking in the orange parking lot.

1:07
The bottom right hand corner would be the entrance for anyone who parks in the green parking lot.

1:11
In the bottom left would be the entrance for anyone who parks in the purple parking, which is senior parking.

1:17
You’ll need to be on time because those gates will be open from 7:50 to 8:25, at which time the staff member who is working that gate will be locking so that we can start for the day.

1:30
Bus riders will be dropped off in the bus loop, which is right next to Seven Springs Middle School off of Photonics Drive.

1:37
Kids will walk along the red line in front of the Field House weight room and around the car loop to use the northwest entrance.

1:44
It’s really important that students not try to cut through the car loop as that is a very busy spot in the morning and we don’t want anybody getting injured.

1:55
If you’re being dropped off by a car, you’ll need to come into the main entrance of campus and make your second left into the car loop.

2:01
Note the green areas on the map, which is where we would like students to be dropped off and picked up.

2:07
Please don’t drop off in any of the red areas because that will slow down traffic or be an unsafe area to get dropped off.

2:14
Please don’t arrive and make your first left because that area is only for ESC buses.

2:20
That is not an area where it is safe to drop off or pick up students.

2:27
In addition to the yellow gates that we used for entry, we will also be able to exit and dismiss through the gates that are marked in green.

2:36
Those gates are exit only push bar gates, so once you’re outside them, they will be locked behind you.

2:41
The yellow gates will be open until three O 5.

2:44
If you have a practice or club that meets starting after three O 5, your coach, club, sponsor, or team members will arrange how and where you’re going to enter campus.

2:58
This new legislation definitely provides some challenges that we’re going to have to work and grow through together.

3:04
Again, clubs and team practices will be handled by sponsors and coaches, and they’ll help make sure that you know where you’re supposed to meet and how you’ll enter campus if it’s outside of the 7:50 to three O 5 staffed arrival and dismissal times.

3:18
We thank you in advance for your patience and cooperation.

3:20
Let’s have a great year.

3:21
Go Mustangs.
