Here are the highlights from the Weekly School Messenger for the Week of April 1st.

All 9th and 10th grade students who have not yet taken the FSA ELA Writing test and all the 11th and 12th grades students who have not passed the FSA ELA test or not taken the writing test, need to come take it on Monday. This is a graduation requirement. Please report at 8:25AM to the Media Center.

Our Loss of Privilege list for all grade levels has been given to our faculty and staff an sent home in the mail. This will apply to Prom, Grad Bash, and field trips and activities for the remainder of the school year. It is the responsibility of the student to email Ms. Schultz if there are any questions.

As a reminder, absence notes are due within 72 hours from date of return to the Student Services secretary in the Main Office. Notes will not be accepted after the 72 hour period and the absence will be unexcused. For the last two years we have had a link on our webpage to electronically submit a note and we would encourage you to use this.

Report an EXCUSED Absence – Click on this link in order to report an absence. It is located on our front page.

This year’s prom, “A Night in the Rustic Garden,” will be held at Innisbrook Resort and Golf Club on April 6th from 6:30-10:30pm. Tickets will be on sale until Friday at 3PM for $85. ALL students must go to the school website and print and complete a student agreement form in order to purchase a ticket.  Parents must have attended a dance meeting and a student cannot be on the loss of privilege list. If a junior or senior would like to bring a guest from another school, they must also complete the guest request form which is also posted on the school website. If you have any questions, please see Ms. Bombei or Ms. Waterman.

I want to remind students that are attending Prom that #MustangsRiseAbove and that the expectations for behavior and safety are of paramount importance. Please do not do anything to jeopardize your safety, the safety of others, and privileges that you have. Should you choose to come to the dance out of dress code or under the influence, there will be great consequences. As a reminder, we will be getting on party busses and limos as they arrive at the Prom. Please do not have anything that is inappropriate or illegal. As a reminder, underage drinking is illegal and will be handled as such.

To emphasize our commitment to student safety, we will be hosting Prom Promise this Tuesday during RANCH. We hope that all of our Mustangs will make good choices and #CommitToExcellence this week.

Again, as a reminder, please do not deliver food to students or have a service deliver it to students. It will be confiscated and given to the student at the end of the day. Please follow our rules.

Also, we are not able to call students out of class after 2:40PM for early release. If a student must sign out early, please follow the procedure of submitting a note in the morning and we will have the pass ready for the student to leave in a timely manner.

As a reminder to our seniors, April 27th is the due date for all online DBAs and coursework and May 4th is the due date for all online Pasco eSchool and FLVS final exams if you plan on participating in graduation on May 27th.

May we #CommitToExcellence each and every day and show how #ExcellenceNeverStops at JWMHS!

We hope that you have a fantastic week! Go Mustangs!
