Here are the highlights from the Weekly School Messenger call for the Week of December 1st!
Welcome back! We hope that you had a great holiday!
This Tuesday is Giving Tuesday and Baby, It’s Cold Outside! We are collecting baby items for those less fortunate in the community. Please bring in items to your RANCH class on Tuesday and through December. We will need items for all babies that include diapers, unscented wipes, baby clothes, puzzles, books, formula that is not expired, and other items that babies and toddlers might need. Please consider donating to this worthy cause for those less fortunate.
Next week, December 9th to 13th, we will be starting a new tradition at JWMHS with The Most Wonderful Week of the Year. There will be spirit days with activities and other events as we celebrate a great first semester and our winter sports, as well as usher in the holiday season. Wristbands for the entire week’s activities are $10 each and can be purchased online or in person with Mrs. Herring. Your wristband will also include entrance to the athletic events on campus on Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday of the Most Wonderful Week of the Year. We want to pack the stands as our teams compete in soccer and basketball. We ask that when you come to the event, you bring an item to donate to our Baby, It’s Cold Outside drive!
Seniors, do you want a senior dedication page in the 2020 yearbook? Contracts and photos must be turned in by December 13th. See the Senior Dedication information on the school website for details. Also, the last day to get senior portrait taken on campus is December 13th. Seniors must call Gigante for an appointment at 813-907-1078.
The Yearbook price goes up on January 1st. Buy yours now for $80 in room 517 or on Rycor.
Students and parents, we want to make sure that students have a great experience at JWMHS. This includes feeling safe at school and wanting to come to school without being harassed or bullied. We ask that families talk about just being nice and be accepting of each other. If you or anyone you know is being harassed or bullied, please let an adult know so that we can help. We cannot change a situation that we do not know about. Students and parents can also use the See Something, Say Something link to report bullying, harassment, or anything else. All reports are followed up. Remember, kindness begins with each of us, so just be nice.
We are in the home stretch before the end of the semester, please make sure that you finish #MustangSTRONG! We have District Finals, Quarterly Checks, and Semester Exams. Please make sure that you are turning in your assignments and working with your teachers to improve your learning and your grade. Our Semester Exam Schedule will be posted on our website this week. Please know that we will not be able to give exams early and that students have exams through December 20th.
We would like to highlight our students, faculty, and staff for the wonderful things that they do that perhaps we do not know about. If you would like to recognize a student or faculty and staff member for being #MustangSTRONG, please visit our website and click on Magnificent Mustangs on the left-hand side of the page under Important Links. Tell us about the great things that our Mustang faculty, staff, and students are doing so that we can recognize them. It can be for something at school, in the community, or in the classroom. No achievement, act of kindness, or thank you is too small. You can also use this link to thank one of our Mustang faculty, staff, or students for their contribution and work to you and our community. We are excited to learn of all of the excellence being displayed by our Mustang faculty, staff, and students!
We hope that you have a great week! Thank you for listening and go Mustangs!
