Welcome back, Mustangs! I am so excited about this school year!! #Excellence is the foundation of #MustangNation and we are Mustangs and #ThatMeansExcellence! We are looking forward to each of you doing your best each and every day to contribute! This is a longer call, so please listen carefully.
Tomorrow is the first day of school, and we invite you to review our Twitter feed and Facebook page, especially our Reopening with the Mustangs page (https://jwmhs.pasco.k12.fl.us/welcome-back-reopening-with-the-mustangs-2020-2021/). School starts at 8:29AM and will end at 3:14PM. Please dress your best and in dress code with a mask to start off the year on the right hoof! Your schedules can be found online via myStudent this evening and this is the schedule you will need to follow.
As a reminder, we are on a learning model change pause until August 31st (next Monday) so that we can make sure that our schedule is working. If you are looking for a change, you are welcome to let us know, but we will not be able to make a change until the end of the week/beginning of next week at the earliest.
As you come to school tomorrow, please follow the speed limit and the signs in the parking lot as to the direction of the traffic flow. Remember, we have a new bus loop and now drop off and pick up is in the old bus loop. Please go to our website and watch the video on how to drop off and pick up (https://jwmhs.pasco.k12.fl.us/all-of-your-student-parking-bus-riding-and-car-riding-questions-answered-here/). Seniors who have painted their spots need to park in their spots. If you have applied and paid for a spot, please go to myStudent to find out your spot and park there. We will let you know where to pick up your parking tag this week.
If you are a traditional student coming back full time to campus, or a traditional shared student with some of your classes on campus and some not, you need report to school at the beginning of the day on 8/24, as we will be providing information and paperwork in RANCH. Students who have an in-person RANCH class, but do not have a first period class because they have an off-campus placeholder still need to come to school, for example. After RANCH, during your off-campus placeholders students can sit in the cafeteria or you can leave campus (if you have transportation) and return when your first class starts. This will also be the same for Tuesday and Wednesday of this week.
If you are a myStudent Online student, please make sure that you log onto myLearning/Canvas so that you can get the Zoom links that you need for RANCH that will begin at 8:29AM.
If you are a Traditional Shared student who does not report to campus, please make sure that you log onto myLearning/Canvas so that you can work through the RANCH course that you have been assigned that will review important information throughout the school year.
If you are returning to campus, when entering campus, you will find that each of your names can be found posted on a list that are on all of the building commons area windows, as well as in student services in the main office. Next to your name is a classroom number and teacher name which is your Homeroom RANCH class where your correct schedule will be. DO NOT use the schedule from Orientation Day, as we have made changes to balance classes and correct schedules. You will NOT be able to go back to that schedule, but will need to use the schedule provided Monday morning. Should there be an issue with your schedule, we will be reviewing requests and calling students beginning Thursday.
For those who have requested to see their school counselors, for the first two weeks of school we ask that you are patient as we register new students and systematically review schedule issues and change requests. We anticipate that we will be able to serve everyone faster this way. We thank you for your patience.
Of note, if you have an eSchool placeholder, on campus or off campus, please sign up for your classes as soon as possible. Directions can be found on our website.
During Homeroom RANCH you will receive important paperwork that needs to be reviewed. We have also included a number of informational flyers, including ways to connect with us, our bell schedule, and yearbook and picture information. Please review this information as it will answer many of the questions that you may have as we begin the year.
If you want to pay school fees, we would ask that you pay them online. These fees help us to provide materials for teachers and students. We appreciate you for doing this.
Breakfast will be served each morning until 8:25AM when the warning bell will sound. If you need to put money on your lunch account, you can do so at this time. Breakfast is grab and go. Please arrive in your classes on time each day, as being on time is important now and in the future.
Any drink containers or food wrappers need to be disposed of in our commons area garbage cans and not classroom garbage cans. Please take pride in your school and keep it clean!
If you received a letter in March regarding National Honor Society membership, you need to turn in your Request for Consideration packet by Wednesday, September 2nd by 3:30PM. Contact Mrs. Crabtree in the Media Center for more information or questions.
