Here are the highlights from the Weekly School Connects for the Week of March 11th!

As a reminder, we will be on an Alert Campus tomorrow with extra law enforcement throughout the campus, as well as other measures to keep students safe. As a result, we hope that families will feel confident in sending students to classes.

Tomorrow begins our March Madness and we have activities and dress up days throughout the week.

  • Monday is Class Color Day with the Talent Show
  • Tuesday is Twin Day with Faculty Dodge Ball
  • Wednesday is Generations Day with Volleyball Battle of the Sexes
  • And Thursday is College Day with the Dance-off Competition

Come out and show your #MustangSpirit and participate in the great activities that we have planned.

Congratulations to our #MarchingMustangs and bands of JWMHS who performed fantastically at the Chasco Parade and received stellar scores at MPAs this week! Also, our Indoor Percussion team won, again!

Congratulations to Madison Slusser for raising more than $12000 for the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society. She was honored at a banquet this weekend where she was presented with the Mission Award for her commitment and dedication!

Congratulations to Boys #MustangWeightlifting on their first ever Conference Championship! We also want to congratulate our #MustangBaseball, #MustangSoftball, #MustangTennis, #MustangTrack, and #MustangLacrosse teams on their great performances throughout the week. We wish them well as they continue to compete.

Best wishes to our #MustangThespians as they perform and compete at the International Thespian Festival this weekend. They will be performing Too Much Light Makes the Baby Go Blind, and it will be to a sold out theater at the Straz Center. #BreakALeg!

As a reminder, a public workshop on the proposed boundary rezoning will be held at 5PM on 3/12 at the JWMHS Gym. Our 9th, 10th, and 11th graders will receive a flyer on Monday in English classes reminding them of this event. We invite all to come to provide feedback on the proposed boundary rezoning.

Attention current 10th and 11th graders: are you interested in summer Dual Enrollment?  Please see your counselor for the registration information.  All forms are due to Ms. Gaidosh or Ms. Ruconich by3/16.  The forms are also posted on the school website.

Quarterly Checks will be held this week. Please be ready and in class so that you can do your best.

Our Loss of Privilege list will be posted on Tuesday, March 13th. This will apply to Prom, Grad Bash, and field trips and activities for the remainder of the school year.

This year’s prom, “A Night in the Rustic Garden,” will be held at Innisbrook Resort and Golf Club on April 6th from 6:30-10:30pm. Tickets will go on sale this Thursday, March 15th for $75 in the CRC.  This is a one day sale at the lowest price. After spring break the prices will increase, so be sure to take advantage of this discounted day. ALL students must go to the school website and print and complete a student agreement form in order to purchase a ticket.  Parents must have attended a dance meeting and a student cannot be on the loss of privilege list. If a junior or senior would like to bring a guest from another school, they must also complete the guest request form which is also posted on the school website. If you have any questions, please see Ms. Bombei or Ms. Waterman.

Again, as a reminder, please do not deliver food to students or have a service deliver it to students. It will be confiscated and given to the student at the end of the day. Please follow our rules.

Also, we are not able to call students out of class after 2:40PM for early release. If a student must sign out early, please follow the procedure of submitting a note in the morning and we will have the pass ready for the student to leave in a timely manner.

The AP Capstone program at JWMHS has extended its due date for applications until Monday, March 12th. Please see Mrs. Seletos in Room 724 or Mrs. Orrego in Room 726 for more information.

As a reminder to our seniors, April 27th is the due date for all online DBAs and coursework and May 4th is the due date for all online Pasco eSchool and FLVS final exams if you plan on participating in graduation on May 27th. Use Spring Break to get caught up!

Spring Break begins this Friday. We ask that you stay off of campus during this time unless you have a practice or event scheduled on our calendar. We hope that you have a great week and enjoyable time with family and friends. Please make good choices and be safe.

May we #CommitToExcellence each and every day and show how #ExcellenceNeverStops at JWMHS!

We hope that you have a fantastic week! Go Mustangs!
